About Me

Family

I am married with 3 children who are students in the School District of Waukesha. Most nights are filled with music lessons, Scouts, sports, and all of the hustle bustle of raising school aged kids.

Nursing

I am a Registered Nurse and a Certified Emergency Nurse. I have over 13 years of experience as an RN, and I consider it an honor to help people in their time of greatest need. I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, and I live out my calling by caring for our community as a nurse. A large part of being a nurse is being an advocate for your patients. As a member of the School Board, I will be an advocate for our students, families, and public schools.

Education Advocacy

I have spent the past 8 years being active and involved with the PTO organization, serving 2 years as the co-president. I serve as the Butler Middle School representative for the Superintendent's Advisory Council. I also am part of the Discover SDW program that engages community members with the District to highlight the work being done to support our students' success.

My Approach

My Why

I am a proud supporter of public schools. Since my kids began school, I have supported the work of education by volunteering in the schools. As an active member and co-president of the PTO, I have helped to support our educators, fundraise for our schools, and volunteer in the classrooms with building literacy skills. But in the past three years I have witnessed the school board become politicized and divisive while our DPI report card scores have steadily declined. No longer able to stay on the sidelines, I decided to run for school board to be an advocate for our teachers, parents, and students.

Core Values

Attracting and Retaining High Quality Educators

I believe that the biggest issue facing the SDW school board is attracting and retaining high quality staff. I believe this is best accomplished by promoting a just culture where teachers feel comfortable sharing honest feedback with administration and the board, as well as providing the resources necessary to do the crucial work of education.

Engaging Families

I believe that parents and families should be active participants in their student's education. A true partnership with families can only be created through timely and transparent communication.

Engaging Key Stakeholders

Strong schools are the foundation to a strong community. There are many key stakeholders in public education beyond the students, families, and educators. I believe that the school board has an obligation to engage all of the key stakeholders in our community including businesses and residents to build partnerships that will allow our students to achieve success whether entering the workforce or trades, joining our nation's military, or pursuing higher education after graduation.
